Read about Heat Transfer Research Inc (HTRI), their use of SAP Business One and their migration to SAP HANA. Find out why they were chosen as a recipient of a 2017 Visionary Award.
The 2017 Visionary Awards were recently announced, and nine customers were chosen as recipients for their ability to demonstrate innovative ways to leverage SAP Business One to grow their business. The award ceremony took place at the Biz.ONE Conference in Orange County, California, and it was an ideal setting to award these customers for their exemplary use of SAP Business One. A customer centric event - it featured training opportunities, product roadmaps, and influence sessions that were 70% customer presentations. One of those speakers, and a Visionary Award recipient, was Heat Transfer Research, Inc. (HTRI).
HTRI are no strangers to terms such as "innovators" and "visionaries". Incorporated since 1962, HTRI is a leading source of process heat transfer technology, research, software and services, and conducts studies on heat transfer and fluid flow. They have been used by companies worldwide and their customer base includes the world's leading processing companies, engineering contractors, equipment manufacturers, and thermal process consultants.
HTRI has been innovative since its inception, not only in its offerings and services, but also in how it does business. With multiple stages of a workflow for contract management, entitlement management and project management, disparately located in various tools, accessing data became an impossible task. Management recognised the need for an integrated business management solution that allowed them to easily reconcile data for better strategic decision making. With the adoption of SAP Business One, HTRI could manage their data in one centralised location - allowing them to track information flow between departments and business processes. HTRI has always been a step ahead in terms of understanding the importance of the solution and what it could do to help improve their business. During implementation, they customised SAP Business One with tools that supported their business needs, and built an internal web portal that provided business intelligence to remote users.
In 2016, HTRI decided to migrate to SAP HANA's in-memory data platform to take advantage of the extensive analytics tools. They wanted to accelerate application development and also deliver better business intelligence. With highly technical requirements, and support from the Vision33 team, this team of leaders took on the task of implementing SAP HANA - on their own. Working with Vision33, and their TOTAL Care Support Program, HTRI were able to benefit from real time data insights into their company.
